CRX interior swap..

i have a 90 CiviC DX, and a 88 CRX SI
i wish to convert my DX to the crx interior
I know this is possible, but will I run into any problems because of (88-89) (90-91) year spans???? if so what problems..
and also if anyone have done this can they send me any pics/info sheets/wiring diagrams.

the reason im using a 88 cluster, is because it fits the 88 dash, but i must re-pin the harness to work with the 90 hookups?

Also the CRX rail will not bolt up to your factory holes. you will need to drill.

ANd if your car does not have tilt steering you will have a steering wheel that is kinda high because the CRX seat are much lower.

alright..you'll find that most everything bolts up just fine. don't forget to swap VIN numbers on the dash..you can get your car impounded if you get pulled over and they check that. anyways, you'll find that almost everything bolts up fine. you might run into the problem of some of the switches (hazard, rear defroster, dimmer, etc.) don't have the same plugs..honda made plenty of space for both sets. i have doubles of my hazards, rear defroster, and dimmer. the bolt at the bottom center of the crx console will not match up..you'd need about an 8 inch bolt to line it up, but it holds fine w/ the other 7 or so bolts holding the dash on. umm..try not to take the clocks out..the crx center vent is almost impossible to remove without breaking it. the center console bracket (you'll know what i mean when you do it) is different, so be sure to swap that. also, try and use the heater controls that are already in the civic..they are a beyatch to switch over..also use the existing fresh air thing. you'll need to change the wiring..email me and i'll hook you up with the diagrams. the tilt will be pretty useless..your steering wheel will be down as low as it will go, and you'll have about an inch of tilt. it's not a big problem though..here's my most recent pic of a 90 crx dash in my 89 civic si. if you look close you can see the 7 8 and 9 on the tach

from what i understand, if you swap the ENTIRE dash, you're fine. you only run into problems if you're trying swap clusters between 88/89 and 90/91 dashes themselves.

oh...but you can't use 88/89 seats in 90/91 from what i understand either. the tracks are different. you might be able to swap seat tracks, and then it might work.

Ben L, also since I see you are very knowlegeable with the swap I am wondering what tach to use?
88-89 tach in my 88 CRX dash frame?
or 90-91 tach in 88 CRX dash ???

also, do you have any wiring diagm's for the conversion of "hazzard", dim, and frost contrls from 90 - 88CRX??

dude, i would say it's a pain in the butt to try and convert to the push button heater/ac controls. if you can avoid it, do so. i avoided it, so i can't really help ya there. i think the actual wires going to plugs for the hazard, dim, and rear defroster are the same, so a switching of plugs is probably pretty easy. for the instrument cluster, i'm pretty sure the 88-89 civic and crx hoods are different from the 90-91. so if you're putting in the 88 dash you'll want the 88 cluster. if you have both of them right there you can compare them.
